There is a lot of from the Soviet Union in Minsk. The city still has not adopted all bourgeois habits. The overwhelming part of Minchans does not reflect on brands at purchase of clothes and footwear. The Minchans practically do not use a word «shopping». For them purchase of the new goods is still strictly planned campaign behind purchases. Shopping in Minsk as entertainment, the few presume absolutely.
That part of the population that could allow to go shopping in 20 city boutiques, prefers to go shopping minimum in Moscow, and as maximum, in one of fashionable West-European cities.
The rest of them go to the ware markets. The most popular of them are: Dymano, Zhdanovichi, Chervenskiy. Traditionally purchases are made also in the largest shops of the capital: CUM, GUM, department store «Belarus» and the Trading House on Nemiga.
The life, however, gets its own back. Large trading pavilions in the center of Minsk start to compete to the markets : a trading complex «Zerkalo», «Parking», a underground trading hall «Kupalovskiy».
